November 2024 brings another haul of exciting additions to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. Although this month’s new arrivals are a bit lighter than usual, Prime Video and Amazon’s ad-free supported service, Freevee, still have some quality content on offer. First is the Prime Video original series Citadel: Honey Bunny. The Amazon show is the newest of many confirmed spin-offs coming to the streamer’s titular espionage franchise, starting with Citadel before branching off into the Italy-based Citadel: Diana, which just had its streaming premiere last month.
Citadel: Honey Bunny is a prequel series revolving around Agent Honey (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) and Agent Bunny (Varun Dhawan), the parents of Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra’s character from the original show). Set in India and featuring a more explicit connection to the main series than the Diana spin-off, fans of the Russo Brothers-produced spy universe certainly have something to look forward to when Citadel: Honey Bunny hits Prime Video on November 7, 2024. Meanwhile, Prime Video subscribers will have to wait a bit longer for Citadel Season 2, as it’s not expected to debut until sometime in 2025. Until then, the Citadel franchise will have plenty of other thrills to offer with this Honey Bunny spin-off.
Next up is the Prime Video streaming series adaptation of the 1999 cult classic thriller Cruel Intentions, which is premiering on November 21, 2024. This new show version may not have the star power of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe, and Reese Witherspoon. However, it does retain the general plot of two step-siblings (Sarah Catherine Hook and Zac Burgess) teaming up to take down a target of their ire.
This time, Cruel Intentions moves from New York City to Washington, D.C., with the main step-sibling characters trying to maintain their standing in Greek life after a hazing incident. To do so, the pair act out a game of seduction with the Vice President of their college’s daughter (Savannah Lee Smith). Fans can only hope that Prime Video’s Cruel Intentions is as delicious and campy as the original film.
The last notable original arriving on the streaming giant is the Amazon MGM Studios film My Old Ass. The coming-of-age film opened to rave reviews at Sundance 2024 and enjoyed a theatrical release in September. Audiences follow Elliott (Maisy Stella), an 18-year-old entering womanhood who comes into contact with her 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza) on a psychedelic trip. The latest Prime Video original film has been described as full of heart and hilarious, making it a strong addition to the streaming library. Expect it to top the streaming charts when My Old Ass hits Prime Video on November 7, 2024, becoming an Amazon movie in more ways than one.
While there isn’t much else new content, there are plenty of familiar favorites to spend November 2024 with on Prime Video. To get in the holiday spirit, try Jingle All the Way, Scrooged, or the unofficial Christmas classic Die Hard. The Godfather trilogy, including Francis Ford Coppola’s 2020 re-edit of Part III titled Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, is also getting added to Prime Video. Those excited about the new Carrie TV series from Mike Flanagan and Amazon can stream both the original 1976 film and the 2013 remake in November 2024 as well. From one cinematic master to the other, Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth arrives at the top of the month, too.
